Counselling

Choosing the right course can be confusing. There are thousands available. We are able to offer advice and counselling to help you make the right decision.

We will give you advice on:

Enrolment

There are different requirements for enrolment in each available course of study. We will help you with advice on what you are required to supply and check them for you before forwarding them to the education institution for assesment.

Some examples of requirements are:

Australian VisaVisas

Once you are enrolled in your chosen course, you must obtain a student visa. We will advise you what documentation is required and guide you through the process of applying for your visa.

For further information on student visas, please visit the Department of Immigration And Citizenship (DIAC) website at www.immi.gov.au/students

Orientation

Arriving in a new country is exciting, but there will be many differences in the way things operate and a new environment to get to know.

At first it will be challenging, but we provide comprehensive orientation information to make the transition as easy as possible for you. You will receive an orientation booklet before you leave your country to help you familiarise yourself. On arrival in Sydney, we will give you a personal introduction and be available to answer any questions you have.

Airport Pickup

Our Airport Pickup service is ideal for when you first arrive. We can arrange for you to be picked up in comfortable transportation and dropped off at the place that has been arranged for your accommodation.

Student Moving inAccomodation

We can give you suggestions and advice on accomodation, then make all the all arrangements for you. This takes all the worry out of where you will stay when you arrive.

Options are Homestay where you stay with an Australian family and experience the way of life in your new surroundings. Also many institutions have on campus accomodation. Otherwise you may wish to have us help you find private or share accomodation.

Health Insurance

You will need health insurance while you are studying in Australia as part of your visa requirements. This needs to be taken out before you arrive and we will be happy to help you make the appropriate arrangements for this cover.

Your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) will help you pay for any medical or hospital care that you may need and contribute towards the cost of most prescription medicines or ambulances while you are in Australia.

There are five providers of this student health cover.

We're Here to Help

When you're studying overseas, far away from friends and family, you need to know there's someone there who's on your side, to give you advice and help in unfamiliar situations.

In emergency situations where you may be out and become disoriented and lost, we can offer a pickup service.

Social Events

ACISS holds regular social events to provide International students the opportunity to meet and talk with other students whilst at the same time, experiencing some of the exciting activities and sights of Sydney.

We want to encourage you to feel at ease and feel comfortable whilst you are here to study.
